Print Design

Custom graphic design for stationary, promotional materials, signs, and more.

HOW DOES THIS WORK? WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

It starts with a no-obligation email. You can use my contact form at the bottom of this page or email me at jen@creativehero.net. Let me know what you need help with, and we’ll go from there.

During an initial consultation, I’ll get an overview of what you need and see if we’d make a good team. We can meet over Zoom, on the phone, or in person (if you’re local).
Based on the discussion we have in our initial meeting, I’ll send over a Proposal and Agreement for you to review. If everything looks good, sign the Agreement and send the down payment. If you need more than a package offers, you can add additional projects to it. Just let me know what you need and I’ll send you an updated Proposal along with Project Details, a Timeline, a list of Deliverables, and additional Payment Details. (I require 1/2 the total payment before I start work.)
I’ll ask you questions about your business, goals, target market, competition, and struggles.

Based on your answers, I’ll research your ideal prospects and competition.

I brainstorm. I narrow down my ideas to the best concept. Then I recreate it in digital form on my computer.

In a meeting, I’ll present a my first concept.

You consider the design  and either approve it or ask me to develop it further. It’s not unusual for my clients to request design revisions at this point in the process.

After I’ve made any changes you may have requested to the design, I will set up another meeting to present the updates. Unless otherwise defined in our contract, you have up to 3 rounds of changes. A round is a group of changes.

Most of my services and packages include 3 rounds of changes. Revisions typically include stuff like exploring color and fonts and tweaking details. If the included number of changes is exceeded, additional changes are available at $100/hour (2021 rate).

I’ll present the finished design for your approval during this meeting and have you sign off on it.

Once approved, I’ll export the design as a JPEG, PNG, or PDF file (depending on what is needed).

Then I’ll add the design to a  file sharing folder. I currently use pCloud to deliver finished work to my clients.

After your project is finalized and approved, I’ll send you the invoice. Once I receive payment, I’ll package the organized file(s). See the FAQ on this page to learn how to pay.

DESIGN SERVICES  FAQ

I require a percentage of the total before starting and the remaining balance at the end of the project. Depending on the project, the initial payment could be as much as 1/2 and as little as 1/4 of the the total.

You’ll receive an electronic invoice with a contract. The invoice will allow you to transfer funds from your bank to mine or mail a check. If you would like to make a credit card payment, let me know before I invoice you. I will set it up for card payment, but will have to include a convenience fee.

I’m a the only creative hero at Creative Hero (I’m a one woman band), so I have to schedule work accordingly. Before beginning, I’ll create a project timeline for you. Depending on the project, the entire design process can take as little as a few weeks or up to a few months. Logos and websites take longer to develop than business cards for instance. It also depends on the project’s scope and how quickly I receive questionnaire answers, feedback, and design approval.

I very rarely have clients that didn’t like their final design(s). That’s because of all the research and planning I do at the beginning of the design process. To make sure I get it right, I’ll do a lot of talking with you, client research, and spying on your competition. Then I sit down and do a ton of thinking, sketching, and more talking (to you, not myself) to make sure I achieve the project’s goals.

After all that, I’ll provide you with design options for each stage of our project. If you have changes to the selected design (logo, business card, etc.), I’ll make the necessary refinements. If you exceed the number of  changes allowed in a project, additional revisions are available at my hourly rate at $100/hour (2021 rate).

Should you decide to end our business relationship, we can part ways. But I’ll keep the down payment to cover the work I performed and the ownership rights to the artwork I created.

If you have an existing design and you would like to reimagine it, I would be happy to talk to you about the options. But I don’t make minor tweaks to designs someone else created.

You’ll have input on the design, and we’ll work together to make it perfect, but allow me do the creative heavy-lifting. It’s my expertise.

I understand. Hiring a me to brand your business is a significant investment, and you need to be sure you can trust me to do the job right.

If you’re uncertain, please explore my work and the testimonials on my site. If you like my style and think you can work with me, use the contact form below to set up a free 30-minute consultation. This will help us determine if we’re a good fit. And if you still have reservations, there is no-obligation to take things any further. :)
