The Captivator

Basic Logo Package

business identity package quote

“The right logo says everything without saying a word… It connotes feelings of honor, trust, pride, excellence, and integrity… it acts as a symbol of success and a commitment to the customer.”

(Westgarth, Alexander. ‘The Importance of Having The Right Logo.’ Forbes.com)

Did you know it only takes a tenth of a second for humans to form an opinion?

According to a series of experiments by Princeton psychologists, it’s totally true. First impressions are made in the blink of an eye! (Wargo, Eric. ‘How Many Seconds to a First Impression.’ Psychologicalscience.org)

What impression is your logo giving potential customers?

Does the logo communicate that you’re trustworthy and competent? Does it connect with your target market?

If you want a professional logo design that boldly declares your integrity and expertise, I’m at your service.

How can I help you achieve better results?

My logo development package will help you level-up your brand through the power of strategic design. There’s more to these logos than just pretty graphics. They’re created with specific goals in mind and ton of thought and research is involved in their development. Let me explain…

Before I do any drawing, I ask my clients all sorts of questions about their companies and document the answers for reference. This research not only ensures my the designs will achieve better results, but it can also bring clarity to how a business operates and communicates. Like a compass, it’s a tool that will point your brand in the right direction and keep you on the proper course.

With a thoughtfully crafted, professional logo you will be able to:
  • Separate yourself from your competition
  • Catch the eye of your ideal prospects
  • Communicate clearly with your ideal clients
  • Increase your perceived value
  • Become more memorable
  • And strengthen your company’s potential for success

If the following describes you, The Captivator: Essential Logo Package is not suitable for your business.

You’re not a small business owner, content creator, or, freelancer…

I work with people who want to develop a personal brand or a brand visuals for their small business, agency, firm, brokerage, start-up, side hustle, blog, podcast, band, or anything else that fits in the “small to medium” category. Sorry, I no longer work with giant corporations or committees with more than 4 members. Underdogs inspire me, and my mission is to help them thrive against all odds.

You plan to ask family and friends to help guide design decisions.

To keep our plans organized and our project on schedule, I insist that no more than three decision-makers be involved in the design process. These individuals will be a part of the logo project from start to finish. And they’re the only people who should provide feedback on the designs. See the “FAQ ” in the logo development details or the “How does this work?” section to learn more.

You want me to copy someone else’s logo/translate your ideas into pixels.

We’ll work together to make a compelling design that you’ll be proud of, but I only create original work. Please see the “FAQ” or the “How does this work?” section below for more information.

You want the moon on a stick for a dollar. ;)

If you need something quick and cheap, I may not be the designer you’re looking for. Okay, I admit that I visualized Obi Wan Kenobi’s “Jedi-Mind-Trick-Finger-Flourish” as I typed that. Did you? Nerd alert! But seriously, a thoughtfully planned, original design accurately reflects your professionalism, attracts customers, and lasts the life of your business. It’s an asset that will yield over time—well beyond your original investment. But my philosophy is if you have to have a design (any design) ASAP, and you can’t afford professional rates, you should buy what you can afford. And when you’re ready and able to level-up your brand, I’ll be here. It’s totally okay. No hard feelings.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT  FAQ

I require a percentage of the total before starting and the remaining balance at the end of the project. Depending on the project, the initial payment could be as much as 1/2 and as little as 1/4 of the the total.

You’ll receive an electronic invoice with a contract. The invoice will allow you to transfer funds from your bank to mine. If you would like to make a credit card payment, let me know before I invoice you. I will set it up for card payment but will have to include a convenience fee.

I’m the only designer, so I have to schedule work accordingly. Before beginning, I’ll create a project timeline for you. The entire design process can take as little as a few weeks or up to a few months. It largely depends on the project’s scope and how quickly I receive questionnaire answers, feedback, and design approval.
I rarely have clients that don’t like their final design(s). That’s because of all the research and planning I do at the beginning of the design process. To make sure I get it right, I’ll do a lot of talking with you, client research, and spying on your competition. Then I sit down and do a ton of thinking, sketching, and more talking (to you, not myself) to make sure I achieve the project’s goals.

After all that, I’ll provide you with design options for each stage of our project. If you have changes to the selected design (logo, business card, etc.), I’ll make the necessary refinements. If you exceed the number of changes allowed in a project, additional revisions are available at my hourly rate at $100/hour (2023 rate).

Should you decide to end our business relationship, we can part ways. But I’ll keep the down payment to cover the work I performed and the ownership rights to the artwork I created.

If you have an existing logo design and you’re looking to honor that logo’s spirit in an inventive, original way, I would be happy to talk to you about the options. If you have an existing logo design and you’re looking to honor that logo’s spirit in an inventive, original way, I would be happy to talk to you about the options. But I only do original work—I don’t usually tweak logos. I have an involved process that may take longer than you’re willing to wait if you just need a quick tweak or refresh of your existing design.

You’ll have input on the design, and we’ll work together to make it perfect, but please allow me do the creative heavy-lifting.

I understand. Hiring a me to brand your business is a significant investment, and you need to be sure you can trust me to do the job right.

If you’re uncertain, please explore my work and the testimonials on my site. If you like my style and think you can work with me, use the contact form below to set up a free 30-minute consultation. How does this work?

Getting started on your logo development is as easy as sending me a no-obligation email. Below, I’ve also outlined the custom logo design process and the steps I take to provide the best service and design.

It starts with a no-obligation email. You can use my contact form at the bottom of this page or email me at jen@creativehero.net. Let me know what you need help with, and we’ll go from there.

During an initial consultation, I’ll get an overview of what you need. We can meet over Zoom, on the phone, or in person (if you’re local).

Based on the discussion we have in our initial meeting, I’ll send over a Proposal and Agreement for you to review. If everything looks good, sign the Agreement and send the down payment. If you need more than my logo package offers, you can add additional projects to it. I’ll send you an updated Proposal along with Project Details, a Timeline, a list of Deliverables, and additional Payment Details. (I require 1/2 the total payment before I start work.)

I’ll ask you to answer a questionnaire about your business, goals, target market, competition, and struggles.

Based on your answers, I’ll research your ideal prospects and competition.

I brainstorm. I’ll do a lot of sketching in an attempt to come up with the best ideas. I use these drawings as a basis for the design I create on my computer.

I narrow down my sketches to the best concept. Then I recreate them in digital form on my computer in black and white.

In a meeting, I’ll present a black and white concept. In this phase, I will only be presenting the primary logo. The secondary logo will be the last step in our design process.

You consider the design option and either approve it or ask me to develop it further. It’s not unusual for my clients to request design revisions at this point in the process.

After I’ve made any changes you may have requested to the design, I will set up another meeting to present the updated logo. You have up to 3 rounds of changes. A round is a group of changes.

After we’ve finalized the design in black and white, I will begin experimenting with colors. I’ll present you with several ideas based on answers in your questionnaire and research I’ve done on your competition and target audience.

When you select the color version of the logo you like the best, we’re well on our way to a finished product.

This package includes 3 rounds of changes. Revisions typically include stuff like exploring color and fonts and tweaking details. If the included number of changes is exceeded, additional changes are available at $100/hour (2023 rate).

I’ll present the finished design for your approval during this meeting and have you sign off on it.

Once approved, I’ll start working on the alternative layouts and colors (black, white, black and white, and color).

Then I’ll export the logos as JPEG, PNG, and PDF files.

I’ll also create the Brand Style Guide to help you keep your brand consistent.

And when those items are finished, I’ll package them all with a Format Guide and add them to organized file sharing folders.

After your project is finalized and approved, I’ll package the files with a format guide to help you figure out which format should be used for print and web. Then I’ll send you a link to download your files after I receive the final payment.
